Named after the volcanic stone, obsidian, Sicilian architect Mario Trimarchi has created the Ossidiana Espresso Coffee Maker for Alessi based on memories and fragments of images. Ossidiana embraces the memory of the various sides of the traditional moka coffee pot and those of its rough hewn namesake. The faceted design makes it easy to grip to unscrew the bottom. The Ossidiana is the winner of the prestigious Red Dot Design Award and the Compasso d'Oro Award and is now available in matte black.
